About Me
Hi! I'm Alex.
My passion is to support and provide a woman-centered maternity and birth experience as a birth and maternity concierge.
As a little girl, I always wondered about the day I would become a mother.
I saw beautiful little babes in their little outfits, so adorable with their toothless grins and became giddy with anticipation to someone's mama.
As a teen, I took care of little ones, always the first to offer to give them a bottle, change a nappy and rock them to sleep.
As an adult, I became ecstatic when I found out that friends were expecting or family members were adding to their brood.
I brooded. Man oh man, did I brood.
It continues every day when I see a little one in a stroller/pram excitedly kicking their little legs as their caregiver strolls down the street.
I have been a caregiver my whole life.
It's in my blood.
My journey to motherhood continues, but in the mean-time, I would like to provide support to mothers in the throws of pregnancy and postpartum.
The support that every woman should receive - doting on the mother, providing support as a caregiver, a personal shopper, a cleaner or even a lending ear.
I am a trained Birth Doula through DONA International and have begun my first steps in the process to Birth Doula Certification.
I have spent years working with children with Autism and other behavioral diagnosis and pride myself on being the fun "aunt" to all my friends' children.
I have worked as a live-in nanny for a newborn and toddler and will be grateful for that family for allowing me to be a part of theirs.
Additionally, I have experience as a crisis clinician in a mental health inpatient program, as well as a drug and alcohol outpatient/intensive outpatient therapist and worked with the aged population in their journey to independence.
Despite my passion for helping others, nothing in this world makes me happier than being a caregiver.
I am here to be the support in the journey to motherhood.
To have a wonderful, supportive and woman-centered experience.
I can't tell you how many conversations I have had with unsuspecting people about the differences in nappies/diapers, the different kinds of bottles, car seats and the like.
Something so simple as the overheard conversations of people looking for baby registry gifts in a store, me finding it exceptionally difficult not to discuss which type of receiving blanket I would recommend.
If you ask my best friend, she'll tell you she loves me, but that I enter a weird realm where baby products float in the air and Mary Poppins comes down from the sky to clean when I talk about babies and children.
There is nothing in this world that makes me happier than seeing a beaming mother and their child and I would love to be part of that experience for you!
I look forward to working with you, and am so excited for you and your new adventure!
